BIOGRAPHY
Andy Hague is known as a trumpeter, drummer and composer. Leading his own groups on trumpet he has released two CD's of his own compositions, and has recorded four sessions for broadcast on Radio 3's Jazz Notes programme. He has organised two tours with support from Jazz Services, including appearances at major festivals such as Brecon, Glastonbury and Edinburgh. He also played on both albums by Bristol group Portishead, and on their live video recorded in New York.
As a drummer he has backed many of the U.K.'s leading jazz artists such as Don Weller, Andy Sheppard and Peter King, and visiting U.S. artists such as James Williams, Michael Hashim and Valerie Ponamarov.
Now beginning to gain some recognition as a composer, he has received commissions from Bristol Brass Consort, contemporary jazz orchestra Ultrasound, and Bristol's best known jazz venue, the Albert Inn. Two of these pieces have already been recorded for CD release.
